And it’s an even more beautiful day to welcome François Clemmons to Hill Country Comicon!
The beloved American singer, actor, writer, and teacher is best known for his appearances as Officer Clemmons on the PBS television series “Mister Rogers' Neighborhood” from 1968 to 1993.
Clemmons received a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College, and a Master of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. He also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Arts from Middlebury College.
He sang professionally at the Metropolitan Opera Studio for seven seasons, performing over 70 roles with companies including The New York City Opera, Los Angeles Civic Light Opera and Washington Civic Opera. In 1976, he won a Grammy Award for a recording of “Porgy and Bess.”
He is also an accomplished author of a variety of genres and in 2020, he released his autobiography, Officer Clemmons, A Memoir.
